The Subject Property
The master bathroom was small with an awkward floor plan that included a placing the vanity in a separate area with a door to the shower and toilet area. The wall and door between were removed to create a more open feeling, aided by a trendy glass shower with an angled edge. The sleek new vanity was topped with a counter of gray Regency Quartz, accented by a chrome Grohe Eurocube faucet. The Daltile tile included two sizes of Vernada in Fog, with the large size set on the bathroom floor while smaller, matching tiles accentuated the floor of the shower. The shower walls were done in Fabrique in Blanc Linen, with an accent bar of Ash Sutherland in Slate Ash running through and backing the attractive niche. The same elegant tiles were used as the vanity backsplash, tying the design together. For a final touch, a Kohler Veranda medicine cabinet was added to offer elegant and practical storage, and new can lights were added to brighten the entire shower area. Double doors with a textured glass insert now serve as a warm yet modern passway into a bright, spacious new bathroom.
Project Summary
Though the actual space was not changed, the new bathroom feels much bigger and brighter. The old floor plan divided the sink area from the rest of the bathroom, and chopped up the space. Now the room not only feels more spacious, it is definitely more on-trend, adding enjoyment as well as additional value to the home.
