Master Bath Remodel Lake Villa

The odd-shaped master bath in this Lake Villa home begged for a little style TLC. Luckily, Regency Home Remodeling’s designers know how to insert verve into unusual spaces. The design they came up with not only was stylish, but the clever use of materials also created a visually open space that seems much larger and works beautifully with the odd wall angles.

A new KraftMaid vanity in Renway Maple Shortbread was craftily set along one multi-angled wall with two Kohler Caxton rectangular undermount sinks, Kohler Tone faucets and matching two-light sconce, all in matte black, along with two Robern mirrored medicine cabinets, all from Studio 41. On the facing wall, a new Kohler Underscore bathtub is set with a Kohler Tone faucet that matches the sink and adds continuity. Finally, the old, dark shower was opened with glass walls and matching matte black Kohler shower fixtures, while a Trident Quartz Shower base from Atlantis Granite and Quartz created a floor with style and functionality. The side and back walls were covered with a clever mix of sizes of the same tile: the side wall of 6” x 18” tile in Editorial White Rectangle Wave set vertically, while the back wall and the walls surrounding the tub were set horizontally in the 12” x 24” size, adding visual texture to the room. The vanity top, threshold, tub top surround and shower half-wall front edge were finished with One Quartz Chateau (OQ87), while the main floor pulls it all together with 12” x 24” Feature Beige Matte tiles.
