The Subject Property
This large bathroom was in need of a major style change and update. The bathroom was out of style and had become monotonous to those who were using it. The residents wanted to convert the space into a more current one that would be more comfortable and elegant. To start this job, Regency removed the following: the flooring down to the sub floor, the existing shower area down to the studs, the entire ceiling, all tile from the tub deck and walls, and all fixtures and cabinetry. Additionally, new electrical wiring was installed along the ceiling in order to add five new recessed cans equipped with dimming capabilities in order to make the room more comfortable and inviting. The customers wanted this space to be converted into a highly functional and visually appealing space that the children would love to use as they get older.
End Result
The new bathroom space looks simple, yet elegant and comfortable. One of the most notable changes is the replacement of the large, built-in tub with a smaller, more modern, white Kohler tub. This change helped to conserve space and increase the open floor space and make the bathroom feel much more spacious. The tub deck is fitted with the same Giallo Ornamental granite as the vanity, creating a clean and uniform look in the bathroom. The color scheme of the bathroom was also made more elegant and consistent with the removal of the preexisting tile and replacement with Skybridge off-white tile floors, shower walls, and tub walls from Daltile. In order to ensure that the room did not look bland from having the same tile throughout the bathroom, a darker, contrasting Tiger Eye Malayan accent and niche shelf were installed in the shower. This darker finish also helps to blend between the brighter walls and flooring and the espresso maple cabinetry, which was installed in the vanity. For a more modern appeal, premium, polished chrome fixtures from Grohe such as: tub filler, showerhead, and lavatory faucet help to bring a sleek appeal to the bathroom that the homeowners were looking for. The work competently and diligently completed by Regency exceeded all of the customers’ expectations and the new bathroom is one that will be happily and comfortably used for many years to come.
