The residents of this home were ready to make a big change. They wanted to change the layout of their kitchen while essentially changing the floor plan of the entire first floor in the process. They were looking for an open and practical kitchen space that afforded them the luxuries of a modern kitchen space. This remodel began with the removal of: all appliances, cabinetry, countertops, backsplash tiles, flooring, and partition wall that had been separating the kitchen and family room areas. This change would significantly change the layout of the first floor to a more open floor plan, which would make the kitchen area look larger and more spacious. New electrical wiring was installed for the new layout of the kitchen as well as for the installation of 10 new recessed cans for the kitchen and eating area.

End Result

This new kitchen is amazing! The most noticeable change is the layout. Thanks to the removal of the partition wall and the plan set forth by Regency, the kitchen space was significantly increased in size and the entire floor plan of the first floor of the house was completely opened up. The color scheme of the kitchen was also changed dramatically. The new, white shaker cabinetry in conjunction with the increased lighting of the space brings the area to life and makes it very welcoming. This brightness was added to with the installation of the white Rittenhouse Square backsplash that was installed throughout the kitchen above the countertops and below the cabinetry. In order to contrast the bright new appearance of the kitchen, darker hardwood flooring was installed from Leo Hardwood flooring. This helps creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The modern theme was successfully accomplished by installing premium stainless steel appliances such as: DCS oven/stove top and GE refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. This kitchen is beautiful, spacious, elegant, and practical and surpassed all of the customers’ expectations. There is no doubt that they will enjoy using this kitchen for many years to come.
