This remodel took place in Mount Prospect near the intersection of East Algonquin Road and South Arlington Heights Road in the southeast area of Mount Prospect. Mount Prospect is a beautiful village with a population of approximately 55,000 residents according to the 2010 census and is a park of Elk Grove and Wheeling Townships within Cook County. The Subject Property

It was time to remodel this kitchen and make some dramatic changes. The preexisting space had become bland to them and they were ready to make some exciting changes. This kitchen remodel began with the demolition and removal of any necessary plumbing and electrical, all kitchen appliances, cabinetry, flooring, countertops, drywall on walls and ceiling, the wall section and framing of the built-in oven and pantry, and all flooring down to the sub floor. New electrical wiring was installed in order to put 10 new recessed cans along the ceiling as well as installing lights under the cabinetry above the backsplash. The gas line was also reworked, which was necessary for the new placement of the cook top/oven. The overall goal of the remodel and the desire of the owners was to change essentially everything about this kitchen including the style, finishes, and layout.

End Result

This kitchen was brought back to life and completely revamped thanks to the skillful work of Regency Home Remodeling. The new layout of the kitchen makes the space much more efficient and practical. Swapping the locations of the oven and the refrigerator create much more counter space as well as storage space. A lot of the space of the kitchen in the previous layout was being wasted by the built-in oven and pantry area. This was combatted by placing the refrigerator in that space and surrounding it with beautiful white shaker cabinetry, which was installed throughout the rest of the kitchen as well. The white tile flooring that was previously installed in the kitchen was replaced with a beautiful Brazilian Cherry hardwood flooring from Leo Hardwood Flooring. This color change really assisted in converting the color scheme of the kitchen to a warmer and more inviting environment. The white cabinetry was contrasted with the light grey backsplash that lines the kitchen area above the countertop and beneath the cabinetry. The light grey backsplash also creates a seamless transition and blends the color scheme of the kitchen with the premium stainless steel appliances including the: Wolf stove/oven and hood, Kitchen Aid refrigerator, Kitchen Aid microwave, Kitchen Aid dishwasher, and Kohler lavatory sink, and Kohler lavatory faucet.
