Many people know of Lake Forest from the novel The Great Gatsby, which referenced Lake Forest and Kenilworth due to the affluence of those areas. This holds true today, as the median annual family income in Lake Forest is over $200,000. Also, some scenes in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off were filmed in Lake Forest. Some of the popular places near this home are: Market Square, Wildlife Discovery Center, Elawa Farm, Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve, Popcorn Factory Store, and many more.
The Subject Property
The purpose of this remodel was to completely redesign the kitchen in almost every way. The residents were interested in maintaining the general color scheme, but were ready to change everything else. The layout of the cabinetry and countertops would be changed in favor of a layout that would create a more open and better flowing floor plan. Also, The location of the certain appliances would be moved in order to make the kitchen space more efficient and practical for use. Regency began with the demolition and removal of all cabinetry, countertops, appliances, and flooring. Then Regency began to remodel this space into a more modern and spacious kitchen.
End Result
The new layout of this kitchen is awesome. The removal of the U-shaped countertops and installation of a convenient island allows the kitchen area to flow much more smoothly into the dining room. This makes the space feel and appear much larger. Also, the new location of the stainless steel KitchenAid refrigerator is much more conveniently placed next to the Miele microwave. The stove top/oven location remained the same, but is much less crowded. This will make the stainless steel Thermador oven much more convenient to use. The new, Red Oak flooring from LEO Hardwood Flooring has a warm appeal, which contrasts beautifully with the white maple cabinetry from KraftMaid. This new kitchen space is much more practical, allows much more storage and counter space, and conveys luxury and style that the previous space did not have. The residents will enjoy this space for many years to come and are overjoyed with the work completed by Regency.
