Lake Zurich Kitchen Remodel

This Lake Zurich kitchen, though charming and useful, lacked a certain panache the owners wished to develop. With the help of Regency Home Remodeling, that upgrade came not only with a knockout style, but also in expanded usefulness through additional cabinets and a little structural reorientation.

First, the pass-through window to the adjacent dining room was changed out for a wider, more practical doorway. Any cabinet or counter space lost there was quickly replaced by the expansion of the island, which allowed for the inclusion of extra cabinets, as well as for an built-in microwave drawer. Regency’s white shaker cabinets infused a practical yet beautiful quality to all the space, made even more stunning by Daltile’s OQ55 Valor White quartz countertops and 3”x12” Artigiano Italian Alps backsplash tile. A spectacular addition is the Kohler Cairn undermount sink in matte black, with matching matte black fixtures and cabinet hardware, all from Studio 41. The extra space also provided excellent settings for ABT’s GE line of appliances, including a 36” built-in gas cooktop with a wall-mount pyramid Chimney Hood, front-control dishwasher, and Profile series counter-depth French-door refrigerator. Finally, little-used adjacent area was developed into a stunning new gathering area by eliminated a pantry and replacing it with a cabinet wall complete with mini-cooler and wine fridge, along with a custom-made bench providing built-in seating. This once closed-in kitchen is now certain to be a favorite gathering place for friends and family.
